Student Scholarship
Scholarship
The success of MBUST in developing new technology, among others, will be contingent upon its ability to attract the best students to PhD and Master’s programs.
A strong competition among universities on a global level focuses on attracting the best talent in the world. Bachelor’s Degree graduates from Nepal are lured by prestigious universities by offering tuition waivers and financial assistance in the form of teaching and research assistantships. In addition, students are persuaded by the prospect of getting decent employment upon the completion of their studies. Due to the attractiveness of promising prospects abroad, most brilliant students leave Nepal after completing their Bachelor’s Degree.
In order to retain at least some of the bright students in Nepal, MBUST will provide scholarships and fee waivers to graduate students and influence their decisions to remain in Nepal.
These scholarships are meant to cover modest living costs and costs of instructional materials. Government funding is not available for scholarships. Therefore, there is a need for mobilizing resources for scholarships from other sources.
