Industry partnership
Are you an organization or business with a research idea?
We seek the involvement of organizations, businesses of all sizes, and corporations.
Enterprises may be of support to the Everest Fund and MBUST in two ways:
The Background
Nepal has not been able to enhance the technology of production of enterprises through the partnership between enterprises and universities in a meaningful way. MBUST is designed to address this gap.
MBUST intends to dedicate all PhD and Master’s degree research projects to real-life problems of enterprises. Student research will be a part and parcel of the broader institutional faculty research aimed at solving real-life problems of enterprises in a holistic manner.
Since student research is the most cost-effective mode of research this approach should enable enterprises to upgrade the technology of production at the least cost. This approach should also make available a pool of human resources capable of assisting enterprises in the upgrading of the technology of production.
Based on the above there is an incentive for enterprises in supporting scholarships as they help enterprises to upgrade their technology of production.
Research Projects
The University encourages enterprises to formulate research projects relevant to them and indicate the number of scholarships they intend to fund.
The amount of funds required for chosen research projects would differ from project to project. Wherever funds required for project implementation could not be borne solely by the University, agreement will be reached on cost sharing.
Research projects may be proposed by a single enterprise or a group of enterprises. MBUST will negotiate and finalize the details of the project with the sponsoring enterprises.
Enterprises may choose the projects or areas for research proposed by the University. All such projects will be linked to real-life problems of enterprises. In such a case, MBUST will negotiate and finalize the details of the project with the sponsoring enterprises.
