Rajedra Joshi

Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, a Citizen of Nepal, holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He served at the Faculty of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal for over two decades in various capacities including Professor of Electrical Engineering and Dean. Subsequently, he joined the World Bank and worked for the education sector in Nepal, Ethiopia, Russia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, India, and Bhutan, and for the power sector in Nepal. His key area of focus has been enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of education service delivery through reforms. His strong belief that a world-class university is indispensable for
Rajendra started preparations for the establishment of the university as the Chief Executive of the Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology Development Board. After the promulgation of the Act, he became the President of the University. The University aims to directly contribute to the economic growth of the country by creating new knowledge and technology.
Recognizing that the Government of Nepal would not have resources to fund a world-class university he has taken a series of initiatives to raise funds for the University. Teaming with like-minded friends who are keen to help Nepal develop a world-class university he joined the effort to establish the Everest Fund of Science and Technology. He is the Secretary of the Fund.
